In 2002, the association Partage Dans le Monde (PDM) implemented the project « Development support and sanitary action» in the village of Seliamedu (region of Pondicherry).

This project was realised with the support of the European Union and with the partnership of PDM Pondicherry over a 5 year period, from July 2002 to June 2007.

The project was financed for 75% by the European Union, 24% by Partage dans le Monde and 1% by Partage dans le Monde Pondicherry.

General objectives of the project :

• Improvement of the conditions of life of the villagers : health, nutrition, education.
• Coherence with the social policies of the Indian government, namely improving conditions of life of « dalits ».
  

Specific objectives :

• Provide access to healthcare.
  
• Improvement of health through development of sanitary education.
• Contribution to increase of living standards of the villagers.
  
• Self-financing of the dispensary.
