Partage dans le Monde started from the observation that sanitary education when taught to children has an impact on their families and raises their awareness on hygiene and health. As a consequence since 1996 Partage dans le Monde has adapted an experience already successfully implemented in Bombay slams.

Training is proposed to children aged 9 to 15 which allows them to achieve the following :

• Recognise some signs of medical emergency (dehydration of children, clinical signs of deficiency in vitamins).
  
• Learn some basic hygiene rules.
• Acquire the basic principles of prevention – Learn some theoretical notions on disease, environmental issues and everyday life (most frequent illnesses of children, growth problems (malnutrition, nutrition), parasitoses, contamination linked to faeces, water treatment, general hygiene etc...).
  

After an experience of 8 years of training, the impact of the action of children doctors on the populations can be fully appreciated and particularly on reduction of alcoholism.

The training has played a strong role in the valorisation of the place of girls in the families and has also given rise to some medical vocations amongst the children.
