Since 2005, Partage dans le Monde has been financing 6 months-long medical missions.
The association’s doctors, nurses and logisticians are investing their time with local partners in the different dispensaries.
These long-term missions provide a continuity of healthcare, a follow up of chronic diseases through the creation of a reference file and specialized consultations: gynaecology, paediatrics, screening by ultrasound.
The sharing of expertise between the Indian and French teams strengthens bonds and greatly improves the relevance of the action.
Regular assessments between the Franco- Indian teams are targeted to adapt the actions to the identified needs.
Rural populations, living mostly below the poverty line, benefit from adapted medical care and health education.
Consultations : They are organized in weekly consultations in the three dispensaries Nadukuppam, Seliamedu and Mevalur. In the “Free Clinic” dispensary, consultations are available on a daily basis from Monday to Friday.
Health camps are also organised in targeted villages to detect and treat several hundreds of people in one day.

Pathologies : They are linked to sanitary and hygiene conditions, but also to socio-economic conditions :
- Intestinal parasites, infectious diarrhoea.
- Respiratory disease and ORL: bronchitis, asthma, otitis.
- The nutritional and vitamin deficiencies are causes of chronic disease: anaemia, pellagra. rickets, nyctalopia...favourable grounds for infectious disease, morbidity mortality of lothers and children, statural and weight recession in children.
- High blood pressure and diabetes (non insulin dependant) affects nearly 30% of the population in South India and are at the source of angiopathic disease.
- In dermatology: leprosy, over infected neglected wounds, eczema scabies, plantar perforans, pediculosis...
In epidemic times or seasonal upsurge (monsoon): chikungunya, dengue, malaria, typhoid fever. There are also cases of tuberculosis and AIDS, which are redirected to official clinics where these diseases are taken care of free of charge.

Health Education, Focus Group, children doctors : The “Partage dans le monde” policy, developed with its Indian partners, is to develop and increase the education and health prevention actions as much as possible. The long-term medical initiatives specifically emphasize this prevention and education integrated with the medical care.
The target populations are children of school age (health education, children doctors) and young women : discussion groups around a specific theme lead by a doctor (focus groups).
Medical mission : Since several years long duration (6 months) missions are planned, each year.
