The medical mission takes place in South India, on the territory of Pondicherry and in Tamil Nadu, around Chennai from July 2008 to February 2009. Two doctors cover the four dispensaries of the association.

The main objectives of the mission are the following :

  • Improvement of medical practice in the dispensaries and the patient relation namely in paediatrics.
  • Evaluation of medical action with beneficiary populations.
  • Treatment of chronic illness, such as arterial hypertension, diabetes, chronic pain, through the introduction of screening protocols, with the aim of adequate and continuous healthcare.
  • Structuring of a network of medical specialists, in order to optimise healthcare, and the follow-up of patients and provide continuity in between the medical missions.
  • Creation of a new group of children doctors in Seliamedu amongst the children attending homework support.
  • Strengthening of health education activities.
  • Training of health workers who will be the reference persons in each village, in order to ensure continuity of health care in between the consultations.
  • Running sessions with handicapped children and adults from the day hospital Satya School, an institution without currently medical or psychiatric follow up.
